What clients say on Google

“I want to thank this company for everything they have done for my friend who is an 82-year-old Air Force veteran who was taken advantage of by a couple. It has taken months of their hard work to finally locate and serve the defendant who ripped off my friend. They never gave up. They knew exactly what to do and their persistence is appreciated beyond words. If you need someone to help you no matter what the situation is, Grate Detections, LLC is the company with integrity and grit. Thank you so much for everything and I know that things will turn out positively and my friend will receive the justice that he deserves.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Dustin Grate at Grate Detections.

I contacted him needing same-day service of process involving multiple defendants, extremely large filings, and more moving parts than anyone reasonably wants to deal with. On top of that, I was stressed, overwhelmed, and he sat patiently as I jabbered through phone calls, three times back-to-back as I tried to clarify needs.

Dustin was calm, patient, and incredibly professional through the entire process. He explained pricing clearly, accommodated last-minute changes, handled large document printing without complaint, and coordinated service efficiently while already heading to the location.

He followed through exactly as promised, communicated clearly, and treated me with respect during a moment that could have easily gone sideways with a less experienced or less patient provider.

If you need a process server who is reliable, responsive, and unflappable under pressure, Grate Detections is the real deal. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them without hesitation.”

Erin Infamy, Google review

“Literally the easiest, most stress-free way of serving someone. I reached out to Dustin Monday morning for help serving my ex-husband with a modification request I had just filed with the Court right before the holiday weekend.

He responded immediately. I dropped off the documents about an hour later, answered a few questions, and was given a same-day service timeline. Less than two hours later, I received confirmation that service was completed.

Worth every dollar. Thank you for taking this off my plate — highly recommend.”

“Dustin Grate and his team at Grate Detections provide exceptional private investigation services in Nevada. I have retained Grate Detections to perform court ordered drug testing, to conduct detailed background checks and to serve legal documents. I have also referred clients to Grate Detections and their feedback is always positive. I have requested Dustin to provide affidavits for legal documents, his writing is clear and concise. Dustin is my go to in Northern Nevada when I need private investigation services. I highly recommend Dustin and his team at Grate Detections.”

“Had an excellent experience with Dustin. We are not from the area and needed a process server on short notice. Dustin responded immediately to our inquiry although it was a holiday. On the first available day he was able to serve a very elusive person for us on the first attempt. It was a smooth and easy process. His rates were considerably cheaper than others we talked to in the area. We will use again if we ever need a process server in the area.”

Tina Lewis, Google review

“Our firm uses Dustin Grate and his staff for every private investigation, private drug testing, and personal service matters we need. Dustin and his staff are friendly, expeditious, communicative and incredibly thorough. All of our clients speak highly of Grate Detections LLC. and are satisfied with his services. We will continue to utilize and highly recommend Grate Detections to our clients and other professionals.”

Lexxie Hall, Google review

“I have used Dustin Grate for years and have received nothing but excellent service from him and Grate Detections. Dustin is very responsive and most importantly, seems to always find a way to locate the information needed. I know I can count on Dustin to locate a witness (he once found a guy living off the grid and another time helped me find a homeless man). He is creative and resourceful. His great personality doesn’t hurt either.

Dustin just did it again – helped us find and serve someone who did not want to be found and served. He always comes through when you need him.”

Dora Lane, Google review

“We worked with Dustin at Grate Detections on some drug screen collections for one of our clients. The experience from the outset was fantastic. Very professional and communication throughout the process was outstanding. We intend to continue to use Grate Detections for our needs. I would recommend all of Grate Detections’ services!”

“After initially hiring a different private investigator and receiving poor quality service I found Dustin at Grate Detections. From our very first phone conversation I felt like he was professional, competent and discreet. I had wasted a few weeks on the other investigator and was eager to have Dustin get started which he promptly did after sitting down together and lining out what I was looking for. He was excellent at communicating with me and always keeping me current on where my case was, as well as empathetic to my situation. He supplied me with the information I was looking for in just a few short weeks. I felt very well taken care of. If you want professional, timely, quality service, Dustin is your guy!”

Mandy Barnes, Google review

“This man went out of his way to help me serve someone who was avoiding contact at all costs. He (and his team)was willing to hear me out and work with me in any way he could to provide help. Would definitely recommend. 10/10. Very professional and very kind. Responded in timely manner. Great job for the value. Service was provided the day after I first contacted Dustin.”

“I hired Dustin to do a private investigation for custody issues. Dustin was responsive, quick to help out and easy to deal with. I was first skeptical using a PI, but it actually helped me during a long custody battle that worked in my favor. His people video taped my ex drinking wine in a casino, which she was not allowed to do with out kids and the courts ruled in my favor due to his surveillance. Would recommend and would use again. But keep in mind after his PI work is done it was a 200 dollar charge for the video and paperwork to go along with it.”

Daniel Martinez, Google review

“Dustin was present during a contentious visit for retrieval of property and walk through of 2 buildings. He diffused many volatile situations with firmness, kindness, respect and professionalism. He mediated extremely well, so that both sides felt they had gotten what they wanted. His treatment of the most difficult people imaginable was outstanding and extremely effective. I know that I will use his services in the future and will look forward to it!!”

“Had the opportunity to work with Dustin and his investigative team recently. As a fellow licensed investigator i was appreciative of the Grate Detections through the whole process. From the onset/ case set up thru the field work to the final product of report and video. I would highly recommend Dustin and his team for any of your investigative needs.”

“I have had the pleasure of working with Dustin on numerous cases. His diligent and thorough work has proven to be an asset to each of those cases. He is always, Professional, Polite, Precise and Prompt.

“Grate Detections are friendly, professional and efficient. They deserve 7 stars but that wasn’t an option.

My request was simple but urgent and it was treated that way. Their website lists 24hr service and they were true 2 their word.

Late night, i reached out through the website, was contacted by Dustin within an hour. After a 5 minutes conversation and the details of my case, I was quoted a reasonable price and assured of immediate action.

My case was CLOSED SUCCESSFULLY that night (I like to think there was a car chase involved.)”

allana oliphant, Google review

“In less than 24 hours of reaching out to Grate Detections, Dustin was able to serve paperwork to an individual with very limited information. I was concerned that serving the paperwork would be challenging. I was also concerned with the environment he would have to deliver to but Dustin took the information provided and quickly found the easiest and safest way to deliver the paperwork. Thank you Dustin for the great service and reassurance.”

“I work for a law firm and reached out Grate Detections to locate two persons that were out-of-state. I required the locate of these persons for a California accident and had very little information to give to Grate Detections. Grate Detections notified me in just a few days that he had located the parties. I then requested he serve those same persons within a short amount of time. He had them served within three days. Finally, my communications with Dustin Grate have been friendly and professional and he’s kept me completely informed of the status of my requests every step of the way. If I have any say in who I utilize for all aspects of investigation services, I will always utilize Grate Detections.”

“Who knew I’d need the service of a private investigator? I sure didn’t. My car was missing after lending it to a relative. If I reported it stolen it, my relative would be charged with a felony and I wouldn’t be able to drop the charges because WE do not make the decision whether to prosecute- the state does. I didn’t want that to happen. I learned that the best way to find my car was to hire a PI. It would be the PI following the clues and leads. It was the best advice I found. I filled out the form on Dustin Grate’s website and I received an email immediately. I told Dustin what I needed. We kept in touch via text and phone. We shared information and in WAY less than 24 hours he found my car safe and intact. With the security contacts he has at the business he found it at, he arranged for a boot to be applied on my car so no one could drive off with it until I was able to pick it up. I appreciate all his professional help. I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone who needs an experienced professional in his field and someone who has great local contacts. Thank you so much, Dustin.”

“Had a great experience working with Dustin. Timely communication and they successfully completed both the skip trace (finding the person) and service (delivering the court papers). They also provided the required documentation and an invoice to make it easier to get reimbursed for the expenses in court. I hadn’t done any of this before, but they made it easy. Highly recommend them for these services.”

Jesse T., Yelp review

“I happen to own a business behind a dispensary that Grate Detections does security for. During their walk arounds they noticed some things going on in my parking lot while my shop was closed. Not only did they contact me to let me know what was going on they send me pictures and got my lot cleared out just by presenting themselves. I cant thank them enough for their help and after talking with Dustin he had his security do a walk by and keep an eye on the area. My auto shop has a locked fenced in gate and we work on some high end cars. You cant find a better person or company willing to do what he did. Didnt charge me just looking out for the community. I will always refer your services and thank you. Chris”

Chris P., Yelp review

“After having used another PI service and running into some dead ends, we used Dustin. We paid so much for surveillance with the former PI along with a basic background check and were disappointed in the results. Dustin actually took the time to look over what we were given by the other PI and helped us get informed. We really appreciated his honesty and transparency and care even though he wasn’t on our radar at first. With just one thorough background check completed by Dustin, we got the information we needed, no more costly surveillance was needed, and we were able to get so much clarity and closure into a very stressful situation. Dustin really cared about us, our money, and time, and we felt that. He’s also clearly an expert at what he does and we didn’t realize that some PI’s aren’t very good. He’s the BEST! He has earned our business indefinitely and we feel we are truly in good hands with someone in our corner. Thank you Dustin for your sincerity and compassion”

Mazy M., Yelp review

He met at a location to take care if it and when plans changed he was willing to travel to a different location if he needed. This is the first time we have called him for his services and with the great customer service I would definitely call him again.”

Holli L., Yelp review

“We had an awful family emergency that left us with a minor child and no way to get in touch with this child’s father. I asked the police how to find a phone number and they said I should find an investigator. In searching, Dustin was the first person I called. I explained our situation and he was so kind to immediately give me every phone number, email address and mailing address he could find. This was very generous of him to share his resources free of charge based on a 2 minute phone explanation. I was able to track down the father of my nephew using the info he provided me. I will also say I got lost in a Google rabbit hole for 3 hours before reaching out to Dustin as I had exhausted all of my own research at that point. Thank you Dustin, we are very grateful for your help.”

“Top notch. Dustin is available for process serving in a professional, direct and simple manner. GRATE pricing. I’ve known Dustin for some time now and am always impressed with his level of integrity and attention to detail. Solid people, solid work. In this day and age it’s a pleasant find I wish was more common! I’ve already put the spouse on notice — behave… I have a “grate” guy in my corner. (Kidding. Just not about Grate Detections.)”

Joell S., Yelp review

“The best of the best. Licensed in multiple states and willing to do all in his power to help you accomplish & resolve whatever needs to be. Dustin is very dedicated to his company and the work he does”

Kayla H., Yelp review

“Very good experience. Called Dustin to set a meeting to discuss the parameters of what I needed. Dustin took notes, asked questions and I felt he would provide results……and he did. Dustin did a thorough Background Investigation on each of the 2 cases I gave him; the results were very useful. At the end of our meeting, Dustin quoted me a price for his services which I thought was fair given the amount of time needed and the dept of the information I sought. His estimate was to the penny. I highly recommend Dustin at Grate Detections. Just make sure you know “what you need” when you meet with him so your time and his is not wasted. A valuable service at a very good price. Why to anywhere else?”

Thomas G., Yelp review

Laverne B., Yelp review

“I’M ADDING A SIXTH STAR! … Dustin and his team are absolutely amazing! And here’s why. After several unsuccessful searches for the right investigation service, I was so fortunate to to land with Dustin and his team of professionals. You WILL NOT find a better investigation service in Northern NV period. The communication during the entire service was perfect, I was always informed of how things were progressing, I was truly surprised at all of the modern resources and services Dustin and his team had, to help me during a very difficult time. The hard work and level of detail they place into their work was fantastic! I’m sure Dustin has many clients however I think this last comment I’m going to make will summit it up, if you were on here trying to make the best decision like I was. Like so many other service groups out there whether its retail, doctors visits, or in my case PI services, I don’t want to feel like the I’m the 75th client they have seen today I want to know and feel that I’m their most important client. That was my experience with Dustin’s team. Just truly a professional service. For those of you who are looking for a great PI service look no further. You will be thankful later you read my post.”

Rich W., Yelp review

“Quick & Professional! Dustin and his team are amazing at what they do! We mainly use him for service of process but have also had the pleasure of having his help with drug screenings as well. They have a very quick turn around, easy to contact, and very knowledgable in their field. I would highly recommend him and his turn for all of your service, testing and investigation needs!”

Anderson K., Yelp review

“Dustin was great to work with; down-to-earth, pleasant, but above all honest! I had a difficult situation, and Dustin did all he could. When the investigation seemed fruitless, Dustin helped me see that more money wasn’t going to change anything. My point exactly is that he didn’t continue to charge me for something that wasn’t going to happen. Hard nut for me, but he did me one of the biggest services of my life! Dustin is awesome; I recommend him and I’d use him again!”

Karie W., Yelp review

“Dustin was a lot of help and took things very serious! He was very professional and very efficient! I highly recommend him and his company!”

Katelynn L., Yelp review

“Initially I had hired a different investigator for surveillance work, but after several weeks of what I consider poor service and communication (and lost time!) I fired. I researched investigators online and came across Dustin. I called him and left a message, which he returned within an hour and from there we had about a 45- minute conversation with Dustin asking numerous questions to fully understand what my needs were. We set a meeting time to finalize details and leaving that meeting I felt I was in very professional hands and the job would be done as quickly and efficiently as possible. He started my case the next day. It took only a few short weeks to obtain what I needed and in that time Dustin displayed excellent communication skills and was not only professional, providing high-quality service, but empathetic to my situation as well. Should I ever need this type of service again in the future, Dustin is who I’ll contact. I highly recommend him to any client that is looking for a skillful, experienced investigator.”

Mandy B., Yelp review

“Dustin is always our go-to investigator for when we need anything in our busy litigation department. I highly recommend him!!”

M. F., Yelp review

“Dustin and Grate Detections has done wonders for me and the business I work for! We were paying three times the amount and receiving less than half the quality on our employee background checks. Dustin is very personable and provided great service to me as an employer and to my future employees. He has a catchy ring tone too!”

Alisa R., Yelp review
